The summer is about half-way finished, and that means the Common Application is LIVE for all of it’s member schools.  New for this year, we are now one of those schools!

In an effort to streamline our application process, USC now uses the Common Application exclusively. Students wishing to apply for admission to the 2012-2013 academic year should submit the Common Application and the USC Supplement, both of which can be accessed at www.commonapp.org.

All students who are thinking about studying engineering at the Viterbi School should make sure the first choice major on the USC Supplement to the Common App is one of the Viterbi School majors or areas of emphasis.  You will also notice that we have 2 questions on the USC supplement just for engineering applicants…. We had fun creating them and hope you enjoy them as well! 🙂

Pay attention to these important application deadlines:

  • December 1, 2011: First-Year Application Deadline for Scholarship Consideration
  • January 10, 2012: First-Year Application Deadline
  • February 1, 2012: Transfer Application Deadline for Scholarship and Regular Consideration

So, that’s it – the application is live and ready to go!  Create your profile at The Common App website, start to work on all your applications, and let us know if you have any questions.

Whatever you do – DON’T RUSH!  The application may be live, but you have many months to prepare everything.  Earlier applications do not mean earlier decisions… just longer periods of waiting!
