As we have said in many of our previous blog posts, the best way to really get to know a university and see if it is the right fit for you is to visit campus.  If you haven’t been able to make it to any of our weekday programs, we have one final opportunity for you to visit campus:

Hosted by the USC Admission Office, the program is geared toward assisting you in making your final college decision. During the open house you will have the opportunity to meet several current students, take a University campus tour, attend financial aid sessions, learn about our academic programs, and more.

Engineering Information Session &  #ViterbiAdmit Open House

As part of the day, the Viterbi School will be holding a special Engineering Information Session at 11:30am in Seeley G. Mudd, Room 123 (SGM 123).

Immediately following the engineering presentation, we will be hosting a #ViterbiAdmit Open House in Ronald Tutor Hall which will have many students, faculty, and staff to answer all of your questions. Here are some of the highlights:

AcademicsACADEMICS: Sit in on scheduled breakout sessions with faculty members and learn from our different professional student organizations.

Research

RESEARCH: As engineers we have the opportunity to improve society and make a difference. Come see some of the projects our students are working on with faculty members.

Design Teams

DESIGN TEAMS: See how engineers are getting hands on experience outside of the classroom through their work on different design teams around Viterbi.

Community

COMMUNITY: Learn how Viterbi students bolster their communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills through involvement in student organizations.

International ExperiencesINTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCESHave you ever wanted to travel abroad or get international experience? Learn how Viterbi students have taken advantage of abroad opportunities as engineers.

InformationINFORMATIONAL: Have questions about classes you will take, career opportunities, or academic advising. Get all of those questions answered at our information tables.

SPECIAL PARKING AND DIRECTIONS INFO

In addition to our event, the USC Campus and Exposition Park area is also going to be very busy with the March of Dimes walkathon event.  The following information is important to understand regarding street closures and parking instructions:

We encourage you to take the Metro Expo Line to campus on Saturday. If you do, exit the train at the Expo Park/USC stop and enter campus on Trousdale Parkway. Head north to the check-in tables.

If you plan to drive to campus for our Admitted Student Day, please follow these directions:

  • From the I-10 Santa Monica Freeway, exit at Vermont Avenue heading south.
  • From the I-110 Harbor Freeway, exit at Martin Luther King Boulevard and head west until you reach Vermont Avenue. Make a right and head north on Vermont.
  • Enter campus at Entrance 5, located at Jefferson Boulevard & McClintock Avenue (section D2 on the USC map), or at Entrance 6, located at Vermont Avenue and 36th Street (section A4 on the USC map).
  • Obtain a parking permit from the gate attendant, who will direct you to the appropriate parking structure.
  • You will be able to check in on Trousdale Parkway in front of the Student Union Building (section D5 on the USC map) or on the steps of the Von Kleinsmid Center (VKC, section F5 on the USC map) beginning at 10:00 a.m.
