We know this time of year is busy with filling out your college applications, and we wanted to make sure we answered some of your frequently asked questions to help you through this process, so we’re posting a series of blogs with all of the Viterbi Application Tips you need to know.
Considering engineers are very number-oriented, there’s no surprise that our applicants are asking us when exactly the application is due:
What time is the application due? What timezone?
We recommend submitting your common application and USC writing supplement at least a few days before the final deadline in order to ensure its submitted on time. For those of you who want to know the exact time the application is due, get it submitted by 11:59:59 pm PT on Saturday, December 1st to be considered for first-year admission for Fall 2019.
With the high volume of website traffic, Common App often has technical difficulties on December 1st, so be aware of that! If you have any technical difficulties with the Common App, the Common App Support Team is available 24 hours a day to help you.

My son would like to visit next Wednesday…..he is a national merit scholarship semi-finalist. He is interested in Engineering degree and scored 1530 on his SAT’s
Hi Rodney – We have campus visit programs and registration for those programs listed here: https://viterbiadmission.usc.edu/visit. If you are referring to Wednesday, Nov 21, that is a bit more challenging as it is the day before Thanksgiving and most of the university is already on break. I believe there may be some limited campus tours running that morning. Once you have a tour set up, please call my office at 213 740-4530 and I can see if one our staff may be able to meet with you to discuss engineering for a short bit (depending on schedules).

I am applying for Architecture program, regular decision, not scholarship. The slideroom says the due day is December 1, but the school of architecture was not listed in the schools you need to submit the application by December 1. So is it December 1 or Jan 15
Hello Dunn – If students would like to be considered for merit scholarships, they must submit their application by December 1st. The final deadline to apply for first-year students is January 15th, 2019.
