How would you describe USC?

I was amazed at how beautiful everything was. Everyone was friendly, and I thought it was funny that people made peace signs at each other and shouted “Fight On!”. Turns out, the peace sign is actually a “V” for “Victory.”

I am always surrounded by new and exciting opportunities like visiting downtown LA and Santa Monica beach to attending lectures from distinguished figures in academia, there is never a moment at USC without excitement. On top of all of that, the positive energy and enthusiasm of every student I meet here really pushes me to love and take pride in the privilege I have of attending USC.

What activities do you do?

The most important thing that I’ve learned at USC is that this is the time to try new things. During the first few weeks of school, I went to more club meetings than I can count. I tried archery, USC Racing, ASBME, and more. This semester, my roommate and I are thinking of joining the 3D printing club. Who would’ve thought? But, that’s just the way things are at USC – if you can think of it, they’ve probably got it. Yes, even Quidditch.

How have you enjoyed USC so far?

Even though I’ve only been here for two years, I can honestly say that coming to USC was the best decision of my life. I’ve found so much support here and have made so many new friends and connections.  As an out-of-state student, there are a lot of changes involved in starting a new life in college. There are times when it’s a little intimidating, but it’s also an incredible opportunity. You get to be whoever you want to be in college, and USC is the perfect place to find a new sense of self.
