Our Staff

As part of the Admission & Student Affairs Division in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, our admission staff is a bit different from other admission offices.  While we work on undergraduate admission (recruiting, application review, enrollment), we have a focus on student affairs.  We want to find students who will be successful in our programs and in our community.  Getting to know you is important to us because we will be around you for the next few years – not just the application process.

We are inside the Viterbi School and work closely with engineering faculty and the Dean.  Our job is to work with prospective students (and parents) interested in engineering and computer science majors.  We want to help you better understand this place, get through the application process, and ultimately enroll at the Viterbi School.

Louise A. Yates

Sr. Associate Dean, Admission & Student Affairs

Senior Associate Dean Yates was born and raised in Ohio and likes her chili 3 ways. She attended the University of Cincinnati and California State University at Long Beach for her undergraduate work and USC for her graduate work in Higher Education. In addition to her work with undergraduate admission, she is responsible for all areas of a Viterbi student's undergraduate experience: Academic Advisement, Student Engagement & Career Connections, Center for Engineering Diversity, all special programs, and PreCollege Outreach programs.

Matthew O'Pray

Associate Dean, Admission

Associate Dean O'Pray was born in Minnesota, raised in Southern California, and attended Marlboro College in Vermont for his undergraduate degree. He prefers snowboarding over surfing, believes bass clarinets are essential to any marching band, and recently binge watched GoT -- he is very unhappily waiting for next season. He joined the Viterbi School staff after completing his graduate studies in International Relations at USC and is currently responsible for undergraduate and graduate admission programs for the School.

Paul D. Ledesma

Director, Undergraduate Admission

Paul was born and raised in southern California and is a lifetime Dodgers fan. He enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants in LA, and watches way too much Food Network. He studied Psychology for his bachelor's degree, minored in Public Management, and was active in leadership for community service groups Troy Camp and Dance Marathon while attending USC. When he's not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter in Redondo Beach, CA.

Christine Hsieh

Associate Director, Undergraduate Admission

Christine was born and raised in southern California and attended USC for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Christine is our transfer student specialist and oversees our 3+2 program partnerships. When not working with students, she loves running and raising small, furry animals.

Rebecca Beiter

Senior Assistant Director, Undergraduate Admission

Becky was born and raised in southern California but went east for school and earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University. She is responsible for coordinating all logistics for our on-campus events and assisting with managing the Viterbi Student Ambassadors.

Bria Jamison

Graduate Associate, Undergraduate Admission

Bria recently graduated with her degree in Environmental Engineering from Viterbi and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Green Technologies Engineering. As the Graduate Associate, Bria coordinates a number of our events in addition to meeting with prospective students.

Allison Weiner

Business Administrator, Admission & Student Affairs

Allison was born and raised in southern California. In addition to managing the administrative aspects of our operation she is likely the first person to greet you when you visit or call. She is a cross-fit fanatic, loves her dog, and can likely talk with you about anything for hours (in a good way!).
