First generation students are pioneers in their families and communities: they are the first to go to college and pursue higher education opportunities. This week, USC is celebrating First Generation Student Week and the Viterbi School is joining in!

As a first-generation college student myself, I am very proud of all that first-gen students do. I also know how scary navigating unknown waters can be, but know that you are not alone. At USC, the First Generation Plus Success Center was created for just this reason: to connect students with a community and to help them transition into college. You can check out everything they do on their website: firstgenplussc.usc.edu.

Some of our Viterbi Students are first-generation students and they want to make sure that you are successful in your college-search process. You can check out their college tips on Viterbi Voices and read more student stories on their blogs: viterbivoices.usc.edu

Did you know?: USC Viterbi enrolls about 20% first-gen first year students and about 30% first-gen transfer students!
