A day in my life as a USC Engineering student.

I wake up and head to USC’s local farmer’s market with friends. USC holds a farmer’s market each Wednesday, where I love to stock up on my favorite goodies and local delicacies. One of my personal projects that I’ve been working on is a biosensor and software tools to track food waste, allowing farmers to avoid food waste. This was an excellent opportunity to get user feedback, so I greeted the local vendors and showed them my prototype.

Next, I head to my Yoga Class. USC offers a range of physical education classes that perfectly fit my busy schedule. There are surfing, tennis, golf, weight training, and even pilates classes! You don’t need any experience, so it’s the perfect excuse to pick up a new hobby and learn something new. I find yoga a great way to breathe and exercise in my free time, and getting credit for it is always a plus.

After yoga, I head to my game design workshop class. I’m building a psychological action game with a partner and showed my professor the demo. After he gave me feedback, I hopped on a call with a student from Berklee College of Music to collaborate on creating compelling music for my video game. I admire USC for its network, which allows me to work with people across industries from all over the world.

Before my computer programming class, I head to my meeting for LavaLab. LavaLab is a startup incubator where I work in a team to build a whole startup in less than 10 weeks. I work on some website designs and collaborate with my project manager, a student at Marshall. I love being able to meet new people from all sorts of majors!

I finish the day with the rest of my classes, ending the night off at SAL with my study group. We’re studying for an upcoming midterm, so, conveniently, many other majors are in the same building, eager to work through some problems. It’s not too late until we get into a debate about artificial intelligence and how it will affect the future of art.

At that moment, I recalled why I love being a Trojan: for the deep conversations, the thought-provoking classes, and the opportunity to build world-changing projects with some of the most talented people on the planet.

I am studying Computer Science and Games, and I am from Highland, New York. I will be graduating with the class of 2026. On campus, I'm involved in LavaLab, a startup incubator club, and Innovative Design, a student-run design agency. Outside of school, I'm interning for a data analysis music startup here in LA.
