I’ll still be Fighting On while I’m away from USC for the summer! I still can’t believe I’ve reached the halfway point of my time at USC! As I wrap up the year, I like to think back to all the fun and exciting memories I’ve made as a sophomore, and I’m looking forward to what next semester will bring. I will miss all my friends but I’m looking forward to going back to New Hampshire this summer. I’ll be working as a Materials Engineering intern at Henkel, a company that specializes in adhesive technologies. I’m super excited to be working in the Process Engineering and R&D departments where I’ll be helping develop new technologies. I currently have a Materials Engineering emphasis but haven’t taken the emphasis classes yet at USC. This internship will let me dive straight into the world of materials science!
I live about an hour away from Boston, so this summer I’m really hoping to explore Boston on the weekends and spend a lot of time with my family! I also love going to Maine because they have a really awesome zoo and beautiful hiking trails. I love Los Angeles but I’ve been missing the East Coast so I’m excited to go swimming and hiking in New England nature!
I’ll also be taking WRIT340 (Advanced Writing) online through USC. I’m happy I’ll be able to take this class because I’ll have more room in my schedule to take electives and materials science classes. Taking classes through USC over the summer is a great way to make progress towards your degree, and I like feeling productive so I don’t get bored over the summer.
Right after I finish my internship, I’ll be heading back early to USC because I’ll be in band camp before classes start, which helps the USC Trojan Marching Band start preparing for the football season! Even though band camp is tiring, it’s super fun and I get to spend time with all my friends in band. Overall, I’m super hopeful about the opportunities and new adventures summer will bring!
