From a young age, living with my grandparents meant spending countless weekends at my grandfather’s auto shop. Surrounded by the sounds of tools and the shine of beautifully restored cars. My grandfather wasn’t just a Mechanic; he was an inventor. Best known for creating the High Amperage Stator, a device that allows alternators to produce much more electrical current. Watching my grandfather solve real world problems inspired me to follow in his footsteps. That spark ultimately led me to pursue a career within engineering.

That passion had continued to follow me throughout my education. In school I sought out every opportunity to build on my foundation, working with my hands and thinking like an engineer. Through projects, competitions, and collaborating with peers, each experience has strengthened my confidence and confirmed that engineering is where I belong.

This photo captures my grandfather and me dressed as Western cowboys a simple moment that reflects our bond, shared memories, and the pride he’s passed down to me.

This picture was taken in front of my grandfather’s newly opened shop, a moment full of pride as he stood outside the space he had worked so hard to build.

In high school, I took advantage of every opportunity that came my way. Through the Seaperch project, I led a team of students in designing, building, and piloting an underwater ROV, applying core engineering principles. At the same time, serving through a Virtual Medical Mission, I took on a leadership role guiding fellow student engineers as we designed medical devices for underserved communities.

This photo holds one of my favorite memories, my SeaPerch team and me after placing third at our regional competition. We shared countless moments of stress, laughter, and growth, and our hard work truly paid off. I’ll never forget our team, Poseidon’s Penguins.

In this photo I’m shown mid-smile while filming a video about the work we do through our Virtual Medical Mission, specifically highlighting how our engineering team designs medical devices to help communities in need.

Mr. Martinez was another mentor who had a huge impact on my engineering journey. Becoming more than just a teacher, he was a friend someone whose unwavering support and belief in me helped solidify my path in engineering.

Here’s a shot of me with the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Martinez. at my stole ceremony before graduation, a moment I’ll always treasure.
