Fun is more than just a word—it keeps us energized and balanced through the hustle of college.

In college, it’s so easy to get caught up in doing things for their “function.” You attend classes and office hours to ace exams. You dive into research to expand your knowledge in a specific field. You join clubs, societies, or leadership programs to boost your resume and professional growth.

But let’s be real: while these activities may be enriching, they can also start to feel routine. That’s why it’s so important to do something purely for fun!

I’ve loved working with kids for as long as I can remember. Whether it was babysitting or tutoring, I’ve always found joy in it. So, I thought, what better way to keep that passion alive during college than through SCOUT?

What is SCOUT?

SCOUT stands for Science Outreach and is a club on campus that hosts STEM experiments for local elementary and middle schools. I joined this club because I get to mentor and engage with kids in fun, creative ways. SCOUTs lets me tap into something I love—not because it adds to my resume, but because it brings me joy!

I share all this to remind you that while college is a time to grow academically, professionally, socially, and spiritually, don’t forget to pursue things just for the fun of it! Whether it’s picking up a hobby, learning a new skill, or trying something totally out of your comfort zone, these moments of pure enjoyment keep us grounded amid the fast-paced college life.

PS: Partying is NOT a hobby! 😉
