The summer of 2024 was definitely one for the books. I spent the month of May in Germany and the rest at my internship at Relativity Space as a Vehicle Engineering Intern with the structures team. I got to go to Germany with a study abroad program that I participated in. For the upper division writing class that is required for all students, Viterbi offers a partially abroad version of the class. This means that you take the class throughout the spring semester and then you get to take the last two weeks of the class after the semester ends in another country. For this past spring, that location abroad was Berlin. We got to tour the BMW motorcycle manufacturing factory, learn about wastewater treatment, learn about the history of the city, and explore! It was an extremely enriching experience; I had some much fun and ate so much great food.

When I got home, I started my internship at Relativity. If you don’t know, Relativity is a rocket manufacturing company that was founded by two USC alumni (they were also Rocket Propulsion Lab members). They are famous for being the first company to make an entirely 3D printed rocket. Throughout my internship I got to meet and work with some amazing (and super brilliant – like genius) people. I also had a fantastic time and made a pretty cool group of friends (look at all of us, don’t we look so cute??)

Overall, this summer was a 10/10 (minus the part where I had knee surgery and couldn’t walk for a couple weeks but we just won’t talk about that lol – should out USC athletic medicine). Also, I went to a Noah Kahn and an Oliva Rodrigo concert and went to the beach (a lot) and went to Disneyland.
