How and when should I petition for a class if the class is not specified as transferred on a school’s articulation agreement with USC, but an equivalent is offered?
I am trying to transfer my coursework for Statics, (AME 201), but since I am coming in from a quarter school, would that necessarily impact my petition? I read that generally, classes such as Statics are accepted, but I’m not entirely sure. Could you elaborate?
Hi Jimmy,
You’re absolutely right – courses like statics typically will transfer to USC. In order for a course to transfer to USC for credit it must be an equivalent, in terms of content and depth, to a USC course. Transfer students who have enrolled at USC have can may petition for their courses to be reviewed for credit. At this point, you need to hang tight and work with us on the petition process once you attend orientation. We’ll get you moving in the right direction at that point.
