Some of the things that I am involved in off campus are the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), USC Club water polo and the Global Investing Society. NSBE is an organization whose mission is to “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.” It gives me the support system that I need to do well in my classes. I also like staying active and wanted to continue playing water polo so I joined the club water polo team! Something totally unrelated is me joining the Global investing Society because I am really interested in investing and wanted to learn more about it!
If you’re not interested in joining any clubs, there are a ton of things to do outdoors like going to the beach or going for a hike! There are even tons of organizations like Peaks & Professors or the Ski and Surf teams that get to the outdoors regularly! My roommate and I went on a hike last weekend to Echo Mountain and it was a nice workout to get my mind off of school.
Whatever your passions are, there is something for everyone at USC, you just have to find the right fit for you!
