On select Thursdays this semester, therapy dogs come to campus with free snacks and drinks as a way to de-stress during the week. These cuddle sessions are a great way to relax and have a fun mid-week thing to do!

I visited with Apple, a 8 year golden retriever, but there was also another dog and a cat available to pet and cuddle with. Apple was as sweet as can be, and was loving all of the attention on her! She works as a therapy dog and her handler told me that they often visit USC to hang out with the college students.

As someone who is missing their puppy back home, this was a great de-stresser and way to hang out with a dog. Interacting with therapy animals has been proven to assist with blood pressure levels and pain management while also reducing stress and anxiety. Visiting therapy dogs also provides a great opportunity to catch up with your friends and be social in the midst of stressing over exams!

There are many ways to relieve stress during exams, but this is definitely one of my favorites! If you are missing your pet back home, this is a great way to get some animal interaction with dogs whose jobs are to help you reduce stress.
