If you like thrift shopping, this is the post for you. Today, I woke up around 8 to do some morning stretches and have my coffee before a 9:30AM meeting. But once that meeting was over, the day was mine! As I’m getting ready for a spring break trip in Mexico, I needed a new pair of sunglasses. So I thought it’d be a fine day to go to Melrose with my roommate and do some thrifting!

After a 30-minute drive (typical LA traffic, used to it at this point), we finally got there and were blessed to find a parking spot on the main road. We went to Crossroads to exchange some clothes we had, then a few other stores to browse sunglasses for me and any other clothes we thought we’d want for our trip. I ended up leaving with a sweet new pair of glasses, a beachy button-down shirt, and a pair of pants (the last one was more of a compulsive purchase than a spring break purchase—oops).

At the end of the day, we grabbed boba on the way home and realized it was just after 3PM, so a bunch of younger kids had just gotten out of school, making the lines super long. But that made me realize: I didn’t think twice about how lucky I am to be able to do stuff like this in the middle of the day on a random Friday. It’s gonna be hard to say goodbye to this!
