One thing I love about USC is that there is so much to do. Not only are you in Los Angeles, but you are in the heart of food, entertainment, beaches, and much more. Not sure what to do while at USC, well here are some ideas of activities you can do either on campus, or off campus.

On campus ideas:

Go study with some friends!

Yes, this may not sound fun; however, you can make doing work fun! Get friends and go to a place you like on campus. Some of my favorites are at Fertitta Hall (pictured) or at VPD (Verna and Peter Dauterive Hall. Play some music, sit on a comfy couch, chat and laugh with friends, and get some work done in the meantime! This ensures you are productive, while also socializing!

Go to the art museum on campus:

USC has the Fisher Museum of Art, which is free. You can observe people’s art, as well as explore campus because there are a lot of buildings you probably have never been inside of before!

Go skateboarding or scootering around campus or the village:

If you don’t have a scooter, no problem, either borrow your friends or hop on a lime scooter and explore. Or go late night skating on campus with your friends. I used to do this everyday last year and it was not only therapeutic to skate around campus and see how beautiful campus was, but it was a time to form closer connections with my friends.

Off campus ideas:

Go to the science and history museum:

The California Science Center, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, and much more are across the street from campus. General admission is free for students if you show your ID, and they have special exhibits that spark everyone’s interest a little once in a while.

Go to Santa Monica:

Hop on the metro and go to Santa Monica for a day. The metro costs $1.75 one way, and is about a 40-50 minute ride from USC. The location of metro is right across the street from campus, and the Santa Monica stop drops you off two blocks away from the beach. While you are there, you can go shopping (here’s a picture of Zara), and be a tourist for a day!

Fryft anywhere your heart desires (within 2 miles):

Free lyft is one of the best things I would say USC offers. Between 6pm-2am, you can lyft for free anywhere within a 2 mile radius of USC. Go to your friends, go to Ralphs on a grocery adventure, go explore what food is around the area.

Go out, have fun, eat:

The social life at USC, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, is very active. People are always out, either having fun or grabbing food. If you want something to do, there will most likely always be an event either through USC, or through organizations, or on Frat Row that you can check out! Also if you are looking for places to go in LA, Koreatown is a popular place for people to go for food.

Since you are in Los Angeles, you can take advantage of so many fun opportunities and places to explore! One thing for sure is, you will not be bored, nor will you run out of things to do!
