Helpful Hints for your Application

By August 13, 2010No Comments

The Part II Application is available! If you are interested in applying to the Viterbi School of Engineering, here are some helpful hints to take into consideration while you are filling out your USC application:

  • Take your time.
We evaluate every part of each application.  Make sure your application is exactly how you want it to be before submitting it.  There is no rush.
  • Dec 1st Deadline.
The Application for Admission for students interested in merit-based scholarships is due December 1st.  Submitting your application before December 1st will not increase your chances of being admitted.   Regardless of what date your application is submitted, whether September or November, we review all applications the same.
  • Apply to your interests.
Because there are no impacted programs and our students are allowed to change majors, we review each application regardless of what type of engineering you indicate.  So, apply to the program you are truly interested in.  If you are unsure of what type of engineering, we have an “Undeclared Engineering” option on the application.  If you apply as “Undecided” your application will not be reviewed by the School of Engineering.
  • Engage in the Financial Aid Process.
Paying for college doesn’t have to be difficult and scary.  The Financial Aid Office can help you navigate through all the options available to make college affordable.  Click here for more information on Financial Aid.
  • Ask us.
If you have any questions about the application, the Engineering programs or USC in general, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We are here to help make the application process as easy as possible.
