Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone’s senior year is off to a great start and you are enjoying a well-deserved break from your busy schedules. The Undergraduate Admission Office wanted to take this time to thank you for applying to the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Throughout this past year we’ve enjoyed meeting many applicants, getting us more and more excited for the incoming class of 2019.
If you haven’t applied yet..
There’s still time! The final final deadline to apply to USC as a first-year (freshman) student is January 15th at 11:59 PM. Review our How to Apply page to learn more about what we’re looking for in elements of your application like the the written elements or the activity summary. I also recommend checking out our Application Tips blog series, where we break down topics like what major to put on the application, what test scores we ask for, checking the status of your application, applying for financial aid, and more.
If you already applied..
Please note that our admission file review process is comprehensive and takes a considerable amount of time. Our staff will be working closely with the USC Office of Admission in reviewing complete applications. Be sure to watch your mail and email throughout the next few months – you should’ve already received instructions on how to check the status of your application. The University will contact you if information is missing, incomplete, or new info is needed. You should expect to hear of your admission decision by the end of March.
You can learn more about our academic programs, undergraduate research, studying abroad, career services, and how to do more than just engineering right here on our website. You can also learn more from Viterbi students who are enrolled in classes and part of student organizations on campus. Their website, Viterbi Voices at viterbivoices.usc.edu, is where they write about their lives on campus and beyond. Feel free to contact them with any questions you may have through email or their social media accounts!
And lastly, a note on financial aid. We understand finances will be an important factor in choosing a college. While USC is a private institution, we offer comprehensive financial aid programs that help make USC affordable. We encourage you to engage in the financial aid process as soon as possible. Information on financial aid and scholarships can be found on the Financial Aid website at financialaid.usc.edu.
I hope your final year of high school continues to go well. If you have any questions about our programs or the application process, please call us at (213) 740-4530, or email at viterbi.admission@usc.edu. Note that our office will be closed for the holidays beginning noon Dec 21, opening again 8:30 AM Jan 2.
