A common question many people have is how well college prepares you to get jobs in industry? In my personal experience, I would say that USC does an amazing job preparing you to join the work force and helps you every step of the way to securing a position!

USC offers many resources when it comes to finding a summer internship or to have a job lined up after graduation. Between the Viterbi Career Center, Viterbi Career Fair, and company partnerships, there are tons of opportunities to go around; you just have to be looking! Every semester, the School of Engineering puts on a Career fair with over 180 engineering companies looking to hire USC students. I think that this is the most valuable part of being at USC because companies are looking to hire USC students and many of the recruiters are USC Alumni!

This past summer, I had an internship with Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach part of the Facilities Management Engineering team. During my time there, I worked on several different projects including changing the signage on the top of the building which used to be the old company headquarters, converting an old beer warehouse into new cleanroom lab spaces, and enhancing pedestrian safety on site.

USC also has many Preprofessional organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers that help prepare students as well! I have been to many conferences with NSBE and would say I am well prepared for whatever comes my way.
