New School Year, same me? It is unbelievable to think that I was a senior in high school three years ago, and six semesters, three internships, and countless flights later, I am entering my senior year of university!

New summer, same company. This summer, I returned to intern in a new role, Technical Program Management (TPM), within Azure. Technical Program Management is the synthesis of technical understanding, business knowledge, and leadership skills to lead the technical advancement of a project. I practiced translating customer desires into a technical solution and collaborating with various stakeholders, including engineers and UI/UX designers, to achieve that goal. I enjoyed wearing multiple hats to fulfill my role, and every day differed from the next.

Building community was one of my biggest goals this summer. To accomplish this, I spent plenty of time with the interns from my building. Every week, we tried various restaurants around Seattle.  I also organized a Microsoft x USC Lunch to connect current students, interns, and alums. We had over 30 attendees; the Trojan Family can be found anywhere.

Also, I joined some recreational teams with my full-time co-workers. Through this program, I joined a softball and a basketball team with my co-workers and developed my skills in those areas (preparing for my LA2028 debut).

Outside of work, I spent my time with my peers, trying to get a feel for if Seattle was somewhere where I could see myself full-time. I hiked, drove a boat, saw movies, and tried unique foods from cuisines around the world.

I also spent time with family and friends! My friends made a girl’s trip to Houston, Texas, and my family had a family reunion in New Orleans, Louisiana.

That’s all for now; I hope to speak with you soon!
