From the moment I stepped onto USC’s campus, I knew I wanted to be deeply involved in organizations that would not only enrich my college experience but also allow me to give back to the community. Over the years, my leadership roles and involvement in various organizations have shaped my journey in ways I could never have imagined.

NSBE: My Foundation

My journey with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) began in my freshman year. NSBE provided me with a strong foundation of academic support, professional development, and a sense of belonging within USC’s Black engineering community. Through NSBE, I found mentorship from upperclassmen, developed technical skills through hands-on workshops, and attended national conferences that broadened my perspective on career opportunities in STEM. As I progressed in my academic career, I took on leadership roles within NSBE to help guide new members, coordinate impactful events, and continue the legacy of excellence in the USC NSBE.

Black Student Assembly: Taking Big Steps

My involvement with the USC Black Student Assembly (BSA) has been instrumental in my growth as a leader and community advocate. BSA has been a central hub for Black student life on campus, providing opportunities to connect with peers and advocate for our collective needs. Over time, I took on increasing responsibilities within the organization, culminating in my current role as the Chair for the USC Black Career Fair. In this position, I oversee the logistics and execution of one of the most significant events aimed at providing professional opportunities for Black students at USC across various industries. Working with a dynamic team, we’ve created an event that fosters meaningful connections between students and employers, ultimately opening doors to career paths.

Greek Life: Brotherhood and Service

Becoming a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated has been one of the most transformative experiences of my college career. The fraternity’s commitment to leadership, academic excellence, and community service aligns perfectly with my personal values. Through the Alpha Delta chapter at USC, I’ve had the opportunity to engage in impactful service projects, mentor younger men, and uphold the legacy of a fraternity that has played a pivotal role in shaping Black history in America. The brotherhood I’ve gained has provided unwavering love, encouragement, and lifelong brotherhood.

“The perfect college experience”

Each of these involvements has played a crucial role in shaping my college experience and the community I’ve built at USC. Through NSBE, BSA, and Alpha Phi Alpha, I’ve been able to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion for excellence, leadership, and service. These experiences have not only prepared me for my professional career and life after college but have also equipped me with the skills to lead with confidence and empathy.

As I reflect on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow as a leader, make meaningful contributions to the USC community, and forge lifelong connections. My involvement at USC has truly been a defining chapter in my life, and I am excited to see how these experiences will continue to shape my future.
