USC Viterbi
USC checked off many factors I considered when choosing the place I want to call home for my next four years. My first reason was USC Viterbi’s strong academic program. Since high school, I knew I wanted to major in Industrial and Systems Engineering. USC’s ISE curriculum captivated me to choose USC because USC’s ISE curriculum offers two tracks, the Information Systems group and Operations group. I liked the idea of narrowing down exactly what I wanted to learn in my major, so I chose the Information Systems track because I enjoy the technological aspect of ISE with learning different software tools to populate a database or implement a system.
Location
The second reason is the location of USC. USC being in Los Angeles is such a strategic location because the combination of the many business opportunities, tourist attractions, and social network comes from L.A. Everything is in L.A., so I enjoy living and exploring in a new bustling city.
Small Class Sizes
The third reason is that USC is a private university with small class sizes ranging between 20-30 students in my major class. I value this because I want a learning environment where I can still comfortably interact with my professors and classmates because of the small class sizes, just like I did during my high school classes.
USC Alumni Network
The final reason is USC’s alumni network. It is no joke that the Trojan family is real because of USC’s robust alumni support system. It amazes me that whenever I reach out to USC alumni as part of my responsibilities in a student organization to organize professional/social events, USC alumni can offer their support by showing up as guest speakers and panelists for our professional events. I am incredibly proud to be a part of USC’s Trojan family.
