This spring break, I had the opportunity to take an unforgettable 8-day trip to the Dominican Republic with my closest friends and it was truly the perfect way to cap off my senior year.

From the moment we landed, the trip was a whirlwind of fun, relaxation, and new experiences. We got beachside massages under the warm sun, soared above the coast while parasailing for the first time, and even rode a speedboat across crystal-clear waters. Along the way, we met some amazing people and made memories that’ll last a lifetime.

But the adventures didn’t stop there. We dove into the local culture through its food, and wow, the food! We tried Sancocho, a hearty and flavorful local stew, and experienced the Dominican Flag, a traditional dish made up of rice, beans, and chicken. One of the highlights was learning how to make chocolate from scratch, starting with the bean and ending with the sweet final product.

Traveling has always been something I’ve loved, but traveling with my friends adds a whole new layer of joy and meaning. We’ve shared the last four years of college together, and getting to step outside our usual routines to explore a new culture was something special. It reminded me how powerful travel can be; it opens your eyes, broadens your perspective, and even sparks new passions. I’ve come back not only with great memories but also with the motivation to pick up Spanish as a new hobby.

Snorkeling Ready!

Here’s to more adventures, more learning, and more stamps on the passport. 🌎✨
